Feral cats are homeless cats, many of whom were born in the wild; others are pets who were abandoned or have become lost. They are for all intents and purposes wild animals. Those adult stray cats, which were once owned, or feral cats of quiet temperament, may sometimes be tamed with patience. However, the feral kitten is often easily tamed if it is captured young enough. Article continued: CLICK "Taming Feral Kittens" to the left.

What is TNR?
Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) is a full management plan in which stray and feral cats already living outdoors in cities, towns, and rural areas are humanely trapped, then evaluated, vaccinated, and sterilized by veterinarians. Kittens and tame cats are adopted into good homes. Healthy adult cats too wild to be adopted are returned to their familiar habitat under the lifelong care of volunteers. Giving Pet Away?
PLEASE do not surrender
to the shelter, or the SSPCA, as
your cat will have a high chance
of being put down within days of
going into the shelter. Try listing your cat on Petfinder.com. Are you sure you must give your cat away? Is it because you are moving to an apartment that does not allow pets? If  so, try talking to the landlord again, and even  offer to  pay a pet deposit and sign a pet lease stating that you will be responsible for any damages. Never "give" a cat away. Some people use free cats as bait for fighting dogs, reptile food, or sell to laboratories. Always spay/neuter before adopting to new home. Low cost clinics available.
